He came first in his race and achieved his first PB of the season – 55.14, in the 110mH he came away with 3rd place and achieved another first PB of the season 14.84.

The following day on the 21st April, he achieved first place at the Medway and Maidstone Open in the 400mH, there were tough headwinds at this competition, but he maintained a good race plan.

At the UK Youth Development League on the 28th April at Tooting Bec, Cheyne again achieved first place in the 400mH. He was the only competitor in the 110mH and despite running on his own, he achieved a solid and consistent run out.

On the 4th of May, out of the 150 cohort, he was invited by the England Athletics YTP to participate in a specialist relay training, held at the Birmingham Alexandra Stadium. This was fitting given that the World Relay Athletics Championships happened this same weekend. He and his cohort had the personal expertise of the best National Coaches.

His biggest achievements happened this weekend at the Kent Championships (11th and 12th).

He ran 110mH and achieved both a PB and Club Record of 14.48, he won Gold and the County Cup that accompanies the first place.

In the 400mH he achieved a massive PB moving on from 55.14 to 53.27 achieving Gold and the County Shield.

His final races for the weekend were the 200 sprints where he achieved a PB in the heats running 21.90 and achieved a Silver medal in the Finals. He ran sub 22 in both races.
