This years meeting was held at the Scout’s Activity Centre, Lower Grange Farm, Sandling, Maidstone at the later date than previously advertised due to several Trustees being on holiday. The meeting went ahead finally on June 24th.
Naturally the 87th Report & Accounts 2013 were confirmed and the 88th Annual Report & Accounts for 2014 considered for approval. Sadly the meeting was rather sombre as colleagues remembered Malcolm Hawkes, revered by all, who died suddenly in February. Past President Geoff Cooke was also remembered following his resignation due to ill health.
The National Playing Fields Conference attended by the Secretary in June was also discussed and he explained that the experience was less than gratifying with some PFA’s failing to attend. He added that he felt the conference lacked impetus on this occasion.
This year also saw the election of new officers of the Association.Robert Horner stepped down as Chairman to be replaced by Phil Harding.Robert takes over the post of President vacated by Geoff Cooke.Helen Skellorn was reappointed as Vice President.
Richard Young was re elected as Vice Chairman of the Management Committee and Chairman of the Golf Committee.Steve Farr & John Knott were appointed as Trustees of the Management Committee while Rai Janz, Cheng Wong & Elaine Coomber were appointed as Trustees on the Golf Committee.
Due to the fact that we were unable to adequately publicise the new Edwin Boorman Fund prior to the meeting , no awards were made.To conclude Phil Harding wished to record his thank you and that of all at the KCPFA to Robert Horner for his services to the charity over the past several years. With no further business to disciuss the meeting was closed.
