Cecil Leitch Final Results and Photos
The 64th Annual Cecil Leitch 5 Club Championship took place on Friday 11th June at the splendid West Kent Golf Club.
The course was in excellent condition matched only by the weather which was also superb.
Although numbers were down on previous years due to the restrictions imposed on all clubs, we were delighted to welcome a total of 62 finalists
on the day to compete the final. Of the 25 Men that took part, Nathan Smith of Shortlands GC (Pictured alongside Mike Lynch, West Kent’s President) took the trophy with a score of 40 points off an adjusted handicap of 19. Finishing in second place was Alistair Haworth, Pedham Place GC playing off an adjusted handicap of 18 scoring 36 points and just ahead via countback of Martin Roche, of West Kent also with 36 points. Longest drive was won by Nick Martin of Langley Park Artisans and Nearest the pin went to Oliver Boreham of Knole Park.
The Ladies’ competition was contested by 36 players. After a countback Karen Harris of Sidcup GC emerged as the winner with a score of 35 points off an adjusted handicap of 25.Second place went to Carol Spratt of Cherry Lodge GC,off a handicap of 28, also with 35 points. Third place went to Karen Watkinson of Lamberhurst GC playing off 21 finishing with 34 points.Longest drive was won by Sarah Brice of Rochester & Cobham Park and the Nearest the pin winner was Gitte Sarsfield of West Kent GC.Our thanks to all those who took part in the preliminary rounds and to our finalists and to all those responsible for welcoming us and allowing us to have our final at west Kent.Special thanks to Simon Iliffe, General Manager, Mike and Ann Lynch, President and Lady Captain and to Stephanie, the catering Manager and her staff.
