On Friday 21st October the Association held its Annual meeting at the Town Hall, Maidstone. Our Chairman, and host, Mr Robert Horner, welcomed His Worship the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr.Brian Mortimer, who kindly gave a welcoming speech to our guests. We were also pleased to introduce Mr John H.Shepherd,(pictured standing), the President of the Kent County Cricket Club, as our principal guest speaker.

John spoke affectionately about his time as a professional cricketer for the West Indies, Kent and Gloucestershire, providing a personal insight into the relationships between competing Test cricketers which were often revealing and sometimes comical.

We were also delighted to welcome Mr Terry Housden of Fields in Trust who provided an update of the progress being made with the Queen Elizabeth 11 Challenge and the public voting process 'Save a Space for Me' to select the public's favourite field nominations. More detail can be found on the Fields in Trust website.

The meeting was well attended and guests enjoyed a splendid buffet with wine. Thank you to all those that attended, particularly our guest speakers and also our Patron Mr Edwin Boorman OBE DL MA for his closing summary.
