The Kent County Playing Field Association recently held their 53rd Annual Competition at Wrotham Heath Golf Club. Over £11,000 was raised for the Charity from over 80 of Kent's Golf Clubs.
Nearly 3,400 competitors took part in the preliminary stages with some 116 finalists taking part on the day. Several sponsors also contributed and included the following: Express Auto Centre, the Sandhole Veterinary Centre, John Knott Cars, Aero Auto Sport, GB Promotional Products, SO Hairdressing, Larking Chartered Accountants, the Poult wood Golf Centre, K.C.Wong Acupuncture and James Skelton Assistant Professional at Wrotham Heath all sponsoring holes on the day.
The women's winner was Miss Rebecca Venis of West Malling with 41 points.(pictured).Second place went to Mandy Howell of Westerham Golf Club and third place was Helen Kennedy of Sundridge Park Golf Club.
The Men's winner was Mr Mark Harrop of North Foreland Golf Club with 37 points. Second place in the Men’s competition was Stephen Hill of Littlestone Golf Club and third place went to Elliot Bates of Broke Hill Golf Club.
We would like to thank our hosts Wrotham Heath Golf Club for making us and everyone welcome on the day with special mention of Chris Corke, Lady Captain who presented the women's Cup; Mr Stan Topliss who presented the Men's Cup and to Jill Hodgson, Club Manager who helped the day pass smoothly.
